Medicare Advantage · A brief overview

Another way to receive
Medicare benefits.

Understand the differences before choosing a coverage approach.

How Medicare Advantage differs.

Medicare Advantage plans provide Part A and Part B benefits through private insurers approved by Medicare. Many include Part D. Depending on the plan, networks, referrals and prior authorization rules may apply.

You generally continue paying your Part B premium. Compare covered services, total costs, providers and drug coverage carefully. Medigap cannot be used to pay Medicare Advantage cost-sharing.

Special Needs Plans

Special Needs Plans (SNPs) are Medicare Advantage plans for people who meet particular eligibility criteria. Eligibility and benefits vary; a diagnosis alone does not mean every advertised benefit is available.
